🖼️ What’s a Moodscape?

Updated: Oct 14

A Digital Third Space for the Brilliant and the Burnt Out

You know those moments when you’re fully in it, writing, building, creating, solving something, so deep in flow that time dissolves?

I work in the STEM field, in corporate America. The kind of role where your calendar ruled your day. Where data, logic, and productivity is King.

Some days, I’d sit at my desk for 6 hours straight without realizing I hadn’t moved.

No lunch. No water. No sunlight.

Just endless calls and tabs and expectations.

I didn't need another productivity tool. I wanted a 3rd space. Not home. Not work. But somewhere in between, where I could catch my breath, clear my mind, and remember that I was a person before I was a to-do list.

That’s why I started making Moodscapes.

🎧 So… What is a Moodscape?

Moodscapes are ambient visual soundtracks, designed to support you while you work, study, rest, or reset.

They’re background videos to help you stay focused and have built-in timers that gently remind you to take breaks, so you don't lose track of time - or yourself.

Each one is crafted to feel like a gentle nudge toward presence:

🫖 A teacup that quietly refills.

⛈️🔥 rain, distant thunder, a fireplace crackling.

🎶 Soft music for focus.

⏳ Pomodoro-style breaks (i.e. 45 minutes deep focus with a 10 minute break, then repeat)

They’re like a soundtrack for your nervous system, combining the sounds of nature, frequencies, music, and include subtle nudge that you’re allowed to step away for a moment.

✨ Why Moodscapes Matter

We live in a world that praises hustle culture, and "the grind," where breaks are earned only after you’ve “done enough.” But your body doesn’t wait for permission to need rest. And your mind doesn’t thrive on back-to-back sprints.

Moodscapes are my way of saying:

You can pause without guilt.
You can create space without quitting your job.
You can reclaim a little magic in your day, even at your desk.

Moodscapes are for that exact moment when you’re deep in your work, and all you need is a gentle visual reminder that you’re a person, not a machine.

No pop-ups. No alerts. Just subtle cues to come back to yourself.

A quiet rebellion against the idea that productivity has to be constant.

🪐 This Is Your Third Space Now

Think of each Moodscape as a little portal, a doorway to a calmer atmosphere. They’re not meant to distract you. They’re there to hold you.

So whether you’re deep in spreadsheets, writing code, lesson planning, journaling, or just trying to stay grounded in a chaotic season. Press play.
